Midwest Radiology is pleased to announce that two of its veteran physicians, Drs. Martin Asis and Mark Veldman, have been named 2023 Top Doctors by Minnesota Monthly magazine. To create its list of Top Doctors, Minnesota Monthly surveyed thousands of physicians across the Twin Cities metro area and Olmsted County. These physicians were asked one simple question: If you or a loved one needed medical care, which doctor would you recommend? Each doctor they surveyed named up to three doctors within each specialty area that they would recommend to others – and of course, they couldn’t nominate themselves.
Dr. Martin Asis is a key part of the Neuroradiology group and a member of the MWR board of directors. He earned his MD at University of Connecticut and completed his internship at University of Minnesota. Dr. Asis was certified by the American Board of Radiology in 2003 after completing a fellowship in neuroradiology, also at University of Minnesota. Dr. Asis loves the outdoors. Whether skiing, birdwatching, or fishing, he’s happiest when his family is part of the fun. He is also fluent in Spanish, so be sure to say “¡Hola!” if you see him on the slopes.
Dr. Mark Veldman is part of the Body Imaging team. He attended the University of Minnesota Medical School and interned at Hennepin County Medical Center. He was certified by the American Board of Radiology in 2006 after completing a residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Minnesota Medical School and a fellowship in cross-sectional imaging at Mayo Clinic. This is Dr. Veldman’s fifth year as a Top Doc, having been honored each year since 2019.
