Midwest Radiology congratulates the following physicians for being named 2023 Top Doctors Rising Stars by Mpls.St.Paul magazine in its April 2023 issue. Physicians across the region were asked to nominate one or more doctors (excluding themselves) to whom they would go if they or a loved one were seeking medical care. From there, candidates were grouped into 42 specialties and evaluated on factors including peer recognition and professional achievement.

Dr. Andrew S. Bunney of the Vascular & Interventional Radiology team returns in 2023 after earning his first Top Doctor Rising Star nomination in 2022. He was certified by the American Board of Radiology after completing a fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine.

Dr. Eric J. Carolan of the Neuroradiology group has appeared on the Rising Stars list since 2020. He completed a residency at University of Iowa, and a fellowship at Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Jason J. Carroll is part of the Interventional Neuroradiology team, and among many accolades was listed as a Rising Star in 2022. He was certified by the American Board of Radiology after completing a residency and fellowship at Massachusets General Hospital, and another fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center.

Dr. Everett Gu is part of the Body Radiology and Emergency Radiology teams. He was certified by the American Board of Radiology after completing a residency in diagnostic radiology at University of Michigan Health System and a fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging at UCSF Medical Center.

Dr. Kevin Nguyen of the Vascular & Interventional Radiology team was also listed as a Rising Star in 2022. He was certified after completing his residency and fellowship at University of Illinois College of Medicine.

Dr. Brendan O’Shea is part of our Interventional Radiology team and was named a Rising Star in 2022. He was Chief Resident at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and completed a fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Lashonda Soma is part of the Breast Radiology group. She was certified after completing a residency in Diagnostic Radiology, and a fellowship in breast imaging, both at Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Soma currently serves as Medical Director of Mammography at HealthPartners.

Dr. Collin Torok is part of the Neurointerventional Surgery team and was a Rising Star in 2022. Dr. Torok is certified by the American Board of Radiology and holds a Recognition of Focused Practice in CNS Endovascular Surgery from the American Board of Neurological Surgery. He completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency and Diagnostic Neuroradiology fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, as well as a fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology/Endovascular Neurosurgery at Harvard Medical School (Massachusetts General Hospital/Boston Children's Hospital).
